The SO series adopts a compact apex design, much smaller than tripods of the same maximum tube and height. New twist locks with integrated wipers keep particles out of the locking mechanism, providing better resistance to the elements. New inverted legs increase rigidity while relocating the twist locks to an easier-manipulated area while putting the locks further away from harsh outside elements. Toray 100% 10-layer carbon fiber leg tubes feature a cross rhombus structure for greater strength, stability, and less vibration.
